Healthcare - Bandages, Sponges, Cast Wrap:

Micrex technology has been utilized to provide a high level of bulk and stretch to a variety of medical products. These Micrex converted products are being utilized as bandages, surgical sponges, cast wrap and wound dressings. Manufactures in the United States, Europe and Asia are now utilizing Micrex equipment for these applications. The volume of these unique products continues to increase every year.

One example is stretch bandage and gauze. The Microcreping is accomplished by the use of a unique blade set-up commonly referred to as the "Micrex Gauze Package". The package used with our standard Flat Roll Compactor can produce high bulk and stretch gauze products in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 plies. Processing speeds are normally in the 100 meter per minute range with little or no lint generation.

Extremely high levels of compaction are achievable and since Microcreping is a dry process, no wetting, drying, or chemicals are required as with other processes.
