Leading wiper manufacturers worldwide use the Micrex Process to add stretch, softness, bulk and drape to their dry spunlace wipes. Producers of wet wipes have not been able to benefit from these attributes. The Micrex Process characteristics are released with the introduction of liquids.
The Micrex/WetWipe Process (patent applied), when combined with industry standard spunlace substrate allows the wet wipe industry to benefit from the many advantages of Microcreping. These benefits include: Bulk: Illustrated are 8 sheets of unprocessed and processed spunlace. The processed webs have 3 times the caliper of the unprocessed. Comparing two stacks of wipes of the same weight, the Micrex/WW Processed wipes have over 15% more volume when wet.
Absorbency: More volume translates to more absorbency. In fact, an equal weight of spunlace will absorb and retain over 20% more fluid. This translates to significant performance increase and / or cost savings. Hand: As with dry wipes, the Micrex/WW Process imparts textile like quality to spunlace sheets. Performance: Standard wet wipes will actually stick to a surface. The Micrex/WW Processed sheet because of its surface undulations increases surface area while breaking up adhesion -- improving ease of use. Whether applying sorbents, cleaning or absorbing, the Micrex/WW Processed wipe outperforms the untreated product. The Micrex/WW Process is dry, mechanical, and operates at high speed on a specially configured Micrex/Microcreper.
